Golden

Now it's here; the beautiful time of year when the trees glow in lovely autumn colors!

Fill your day with pleasant experiences; Inside the cinema's darkness or at the café with candlelight, outdoors in nature with warmth in the thermos, in the wind where the waves crash white.

Autumn hikes

Clear air, white sand, and wild sea. Watersports? Hiking? Storm watching? Stargazing? Great nature experiences await in the dark season.

The sea is especially exciting now in the autumn, and can be experienced up close along the coastal paths; between Åkra-Ferkingstad and Sandve Havn-Sandvesanden, - perfect destinations for hiking and beach activities. An outing with a sauna to Sandkassen city beach in Kopervik or Skudeneshavn's Bade-Olena can do good in the autumn darkness.

The year's Telltur is approaching its end and points can still be collected. On Karmøy, there are also many hidden geocaches. Karmøymarka offers rich and varied nature, from the cultural and agricultural landscape in the west, to heathlands and barren mountains in the east.

Two cabins open on Sundays are nice goals for the trip; Kinnebu and Røyningsbu, - and Tuastad's day cabin is always open, and full of books to enjoy. The highest peaks in Karmøy are found on the mainland, Tronefjell and Spannavarden  are two of them. Søre Sålefjell is not particularly towering at 132 meters, but the view over Haugalandet is top notch. From Syreneset Fort you have a panoramic view from Haugesund to Stavanger. With the app Time Travel you can go on a digital journey back in time here – and around Karmøy!

Fun Activities

In Karmøy, you'll find three great golf courses in beautiful natural settings.

You can also find Europe's largest – and best- mini-golf facility in Torvastad, which opens if the weather is good.  Bring a frisbee and challenge friends and family at Blikshavn and in Liarlund's forest trails!

Have you been to the fairy tale forest on Lindøy? The area can also be explored at sea with a rented canoe, and a short drive away exciting cave safari on Fosen awaits.

The natural phenomenon Dueglåp is a great attraction. In the area, you can explore caves with tough rock formations and potholes. From Langåker, you can take a nice marked round trip about Taravika.
