Viking for a day

At Avaldsnes, you are invited to join a journey through time!

Meet Vikings for activities and a tour at the Viking farm. Here, you can try your hand at Viking hunting puzzles and archery - and experience the Vikings' work with traditional crafts.
At Harald Fairhair and Gyda at Nordvegen History Centre, you can dress up as a Viking and explore "Mimir's well"; the source of knowledge in Norse mythology.

Out on adventure

Have you been to the adventure forest on Lindøy? Fun area with a lean-to, barbecue facilities, beach, sand volleyball, and climbing ropes. Lindøy is a popular spot for berry picking and fishing, with a bit of luck you might catch sea trout on the hook. The area can also be explored at sea with a rented canoe, and a short drive away awaits an exciting cave safari on Fosen.

A fun family park can be found in Torvastad.  Minigolfen familiepark is indeed Europe's largest facility. Here you are invited to play in exciting surroundings; in the Viking kingdom, on the pirate island, in the park and mine, inside the barn or out among the sheep in the farmyard.

Animal friends

In Karmøy, you can meet many friendly faces. Sheep, cow, and horse out in the open. In animal parks and on open farms.

Meet the birds at Haugaland Zoo. The large and rich park is located in Torvastad.

Snurrevarden is a small farm located in Håvik where you meet many cute animals. Here you are invited to an open farm with fun activities.

High and Low

Lots of fun to explore; in skate-, pumptrack- and trampoline parks, climbing walls, on padel-, tennis- and squash courts, with putball, paintball, and swimming pools. Do you dream of surfing?

Explore a fort

Syreneset Fort is an exciting cultural heritage to immerse oneself in.

The command bunker from World War II is an impressive sight as it looks out over the sea. The fort was equipped with five cannons with a firing range of 21,000m. There is much to climb on and crawl into. It is dark inside the bunkers, so feel free to bring a headlamp. A short 2.6km round-trip walk with much to explore awaits.

Indoor weather?

Lean back and be entertained indoors; at the cinema, library, cultural center and interesting museums.
